Secretary General

“Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
Welcome to Padua MUN 2026! Since being given the honor of serving as Secretary General of MUN in Colegio Padua, it feels surreal to see this dream becoming a reality in just a few weeks. Model UN unexpectedly entered my life after quarantine, initially as a way to escape boredom and overcome my shyness. At my first conference, I did not understand the “hype” of MUN, I second-guessed myself, and was fighting not to let my feet hurt from wearing high heels. Slowly, those insecurities turned into confidence, and I learned that everyone starts somewhere, and that is more than okay. But what has changed? It was not until I attended this same conference in 2023 that I truly understood what MUN is. Through each debate, a profound realization struck me. From that moment on, MUN became a space for self-challenge, empathy, and leadership; shaping me into the person I aspire to be. So to all of you reading this; GO FOR IT. Embrace the chaos. Enjoy the pressure. Laugh at the awkward updates, the crisis plot twists, the over dramatic speeches. Take those risks. Thus, I hope this conference gives you even a fraction of what it has given me. On behalf of the entire Padua MUN 2026 team, thank you. This weekend, you are part of something real. I could not be happier to see you this June 27-28 th :)
